Light on the Hill

The Kroc Center's Back-to-School Bash will feature bounce houses, food, face painting, family resource vendors, and more. This free community event is a great way to kick off the school year while connecting with local organizations and resources.

Blow Your Mind Blow Dry Bar is hosting its 3rd Annual Back to School Bash with free kids' haircuts, bounce houses, crafts, activities, snacks, treats, giveaways, and more. This is a free community event for local families.

Kroc Center Adopt-a-Bus
McCoy’s School Supply Drive
McCoy’s is collecting new school supplies July 27 through August 15 to help local students start the school year ready. Donate notebooks, folders, crayons, markers, colored pencils and safety scissors during regular business hours.
McCoy’s Building Supply
📍1825 Sidney Baker, Kerrville
Help provide school supplies for a Kerr County student affected by the floods. Pick up a yellow bus tag from the Kroc Center, shop the student’s supply list and return everything by August 1. They will be distributed at their Back to School Bask.

Kerrville Kroc Center
The Kroc Center offers after school care for children ages 5 to 12 with transportation from school to the Kroc Center. Students enjoy homework help, STEM activities, arts and crafts, playground time, sports, and a structured, engaging environment. Full-day camp is also available on school closure days for enrolled families.
Hours & Cost
School Days: 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM
$250/month (monthly payment option)

YMCA
The Kerr County YMCA offers on-campus after school care for students at Starkey, Tally, and Tom Daniels Elementary Schools. Children receive a daily snack, homework help, enrichment activities, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and care until 5:30 PM. School break and holiday care is also available.
Fees
$40 registration fee per family
$190/month per child (Full-Time: 4 to 5 days/week)
$165/month per child (Part-Time: 1 to 3 days/week)
3% fee for credit/debit card payments

Children's Ark at First United Methodist Church
Children's Ark at First United Methodist Church provides after school care for children through age 12 in a nurturing, faith-based environment. Students enjoy homework help, structured activities, and care throughout the school year. Holiday care and day camp are also available during school breaks.
