Solar Car Workshop
Build it, test it and race it! Young engineers will build their own working solar-powered car while learning how sunlight can be transformed into energy. Participants will assemble and test their creations, then take their solar cars home after the workshop. The Science Mill will also have hands-on, car-themed activities available throughout the day.
The workshop runs from 11:00–11:45 AM and costs $20 per participant. Space is limited to 12 participants, so advance registration is required.
Pollinator Picnic
Once a month, bring a picnic lunch and learn about the amazing world of bees, butterflies, flowers, and other pollinators.

Native American Day
Celebrate Native American Heritage Day at the Frontier Times Museum with an afternoon of learning and discovery. Families can explore a trading post presentation, watch a flintknapper demonstrate the traditional process of creating stone tools and learn about arrowheads from knowledgeable experts.

Celebrate National Mole Day at the Science Mill with hands-on activities that bring the microscopic world of atoms and molecules to life! Kids can map an unseen object in Atomic Target Practice, use weight and math to estimate hidden quantities in The Heavy Count, and combine art with chemistry in Color-a-Mole.
Activities will be available throughout the day from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Living Classrooms Homeschool Week in Concan
Turn the Texas Hill Country into your classroom during Living Classrooms: Wild Texas! Homeschool families are invited to Concan for a week of hands-on outdoor learning designed for all grade levels. Students can explore local ecology through beginner birding, native plant workshops, nature-based crafts and more. Participating lodging partners are also offering special homeschool discounts. Moth Mayhem
Take science outside after dark! Join Lost Maples for an evening exploring moths and other nighttime insects. Sheets and lights will attract these nocturnal neighbors, giving families a chance to observe them up close and learn more about the insects that share our nights.
Mad Science: It's Alive!
Science gets a little spooky, a little messy and a whole lot of fun at Mad Science: It’s Alive! Young scientists can explore chemistry, magnetism and electricity through four hands-on activities. Watch a chemical reaction repeatedly change colors, create magnetic slime that moves toward a magnet, interact with a plasma ball and reveal secret messages written in invisible ink.
Activities will be available throughout the day from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Dig into Archaeology
Celebrate Texas Archaeology Month with a hands-on family activity day at the Frontier Times Museum! Kids can dig for artifacts, create fossil impressions, try an ancient spear-thrower and make their own pottery bowl.
Have fossils at home? Bring them along for archaeologists and a geologist to help identify. All activities are included with regular museum admission.
The DoSeum Homeschool Day: World Rivers Day
Admission: $12 | Registration required
Celebrate World Rivers Day with artist and maker workshops, pop-up activities, and hands-on learning focused on river science and conservation. Guest organizations include the San Antonio River Authority, Edwards Aquifer Education Center, San Antonio Water System, The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, and San Antonio Mission Indian Descendants.
Open to all homeschool families. Additional discounts are available for qualifying guests.

LEGO lovers, this one is worth the drive! Homeschool families can explore LEGOLAND Discovery Center San Antonio for just $12 per person during Homeschool Week. Kids can bring engineering, problem-solving, physics, and math to life through hands-on LEGO fun, plus families can download free curriculum-based visit guides for grades K–1, 2–3, and 4–5.
No group is required, so you can visit as a family or bring the whole co-op.
Tickets are limited and must be purchased online in advance. Bring proof of homeschooling to show at admission.
Children under 2 are free.

1 on 1 with a Scientist
Join Riverside Nature Center live on Facebook as a Schreiner University professor explores the connections between science, nature, and the world around us.
This free virtual program will be held Friday, September 11, from 10:30–11:30 AM and returns every other month.
STEM Flight Fest
Discover the science and engineering behind flight with a full day of hands-on activities, interactive engineering challenges, and live demonstrations. Families can build rubber-band-powered helicopters, investigate the forces that keep airplanes in the sky, experiment with flight designs, and create spinners inspired by maple seeds.
Kids can also meet NASA Solar System Ambassador Avery Abramson and SpaceX aerospace engineer Alia Riscado, hear about their work, and explore STEM career paths.

Kick off the school year with a day of discovery at the Witte!

Rockets to Infinity
